Technician – AC Mechanic

Job Purpose

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.

This role involves diagnosing technical faults, ensuring optimal system performance and safety, and providing professional and efficient service to clients.

The technician is the primary point of contact for service requests and must respond in a professional and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand and plan the layout for HVAC systems.
• Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC components and systems, including ductwork, vents, motors, compressors, and thermostats.
• Conduct site surveys prior to installation to ensure proper planning.
• Perform routine maintenance and quality checks to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults through expert troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Inspect and test HVAC systems for safety, functionality, and compliance with local building codes.
• Accurately document all work performed, including materials used, system observations, and work completion reports.
• Maintain a clean, respectful, and professional presence at all job sites.
• Respond promptly to client queries and scheduled appointments, including emergency call-outs.
• Provide professional advice to clients on reducing energy consumption and maintaining their systems.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Proven hands-on experience as an HVAC Technician, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including refrigeration cycles.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to handle a wide range of HVAC tools and equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills; friendly, professional, and patient when dealing with clients.
• Good physical condition and strength, with the ability to work in confined or awkward spaces.
• Trade certificate, diploma, or successful completion of an apprenticeship in a relevant field.
• Valid license to practice the profession in the UAE (if required).
• A valid UAE driving license is preferred.
