Senior Project Engineer

Job Purpose

Responsible for the effective planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects. This includes maintaining critical tools and equipment, enhancing communication standards, supporting business development initiatives, and driving team performance against key metrics.

The role is also responsible for overseeing maintenance processes, building strong external relationships, and ensuring timely, cost-efficient project delivery that aligns with client expectations and company goals.

Key Responsibilities

Tool Maintenance and Audits

• Ensure all engineering tools, particularly leak inspection equipment, are maintained in optimal working condition.
• Lead and document regular tool audits.
• Oversee maintenance department operations, ensuring timely servicing and compliance with internal standards.

Communication Protocols

• Maintain high availability and responsiveness to all telephone communication during business hours and weekends, as necessary.
• Use WhatsApp and other official channels for clear, prompt, and professional communication.
• Ensure critical messages are acknowledged and actioned in a timely manner.

Business Partner Engagement

• Actively build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing business partners.
• Remain available for business development activities and industry engagement.
• Identify and report opportunities for growth and innovation to management.

Team Performance Metrics

Contribute to and support the team in meeting the following KPIs:

• Project Completion Rate: Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Client Satisfaction Index: Capture and act on client feedback to improve service.
• Revenue Growth: Contribute to revenue increase from client projects.
• Client Retention Rate: Collaborate with AMC, Residential, and Commercial teams to address client concerns and improve retention.
• Quality Assurance Metrics: Minimize errors or defects in project outcomes.
• Timeliness: Reduce turnaround times for project delivery and client response.
• Communication Effectiveness: Uphold communication quality as evaluated by clients.
• Innovation and Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements.
• Cost Efficiency: Achieve measurable cost savings through improved engineering solutions.
• Referral and New Business Development Rate: Track and report new jobs from commercial survey conversions, with weekly updates shared with management.

Daily Reporting and Coordination

• Attend regular business review and inspection meetings with the Engineering Director and Coordinator.
• Keep management informed of project updates, operational issues, and business development progress.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to assigned tasks and KPIs.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Advanced knowledge of tool and equipment maintenance standards.
• Strong project engineering and analytical skills.
• Effective oral and written communication across multiple channels.
• Understanding of key business development principles and relationship management.
• Ability to interpret performance metrics and contribute to strategic goals.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.
• Familiarity with the UAE engineering or facilities sector is advantageous.

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline) from an accredited institution.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in a project-based or field service environment.
• Proven track record in project execution, tool maintenance, and performance monitoring.
• Experience in client-facing roles and/or business development is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in using and auditing engineering tools and inspection equipment.
• Strong understanding of maintenance protocols and safety standards.
• Familiarity with reporting tools and performance tracking systems (e.g., Excel, internal dashboards).

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and respond to business needs during and outside regular working hours.
• Strong problem-solving, time management, and organisational abilities.

Other Requirements

• Familiarity with UAE building codes and electrical safety regulations.
• Valid UAE driving license (if role requires on-site inspections or travel).
• Availability to attend meetings and respond to communications during weekends when needed.
