Foreman – Waterproofing

Job Purpose

Responsible for leading a team of technicians in the installation, repair, and maintenance of waterproofing systems for roofs and other structures.

This role requires an expert-level technician to oversee daily operations, ensure all projects are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards, and provide technical guidance to both the team and clients.

The role also involves direct interaction with clients and responding to service requests in a professional and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of waterproofing technicians, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and correctly.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to plan and execute waterproofing projects for roofs, basements, bathrooms, and kitchens.
• Delegate tasks and manage project timelines to ensure on-time completion within budget.
• Install various waterproofing treatments, including membranes, coatings, and sealants, using specialized equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Apply a range of waterproofing chemicals and coating products with precision and expertise.
• Regularly monitor and maintain waterproofing equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working order.
• Perform integrity testing and troubleshooting to identify any breaches or defects in existing waterproofing membranes or coatings.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections on projects to ensure quality and compliance with all technical specifications.
• Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
• Provide professional advice and technical guidance to clients when required.
• Handle customer queries and respond to call-outs professionally and promptly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in the field, ensuring minimal disruption to the client.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of proven experience as a roofing and waterproofing technician, with prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of waterproofing materials, application techniques, and equipment.
• Strong proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team to achieve project goals.
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues effectively.
• Good physical condition with the ability to work in challenging environments and confined spaces.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills for clear team direction and professional client interaction.
• Valid license to practice the profession.
