The waste shoe is a component of a bathtub drain assembly that connects the tub’s waste opening to the waste pipe. It forms the lower part of the drain system, providing a direct path for wastewater to exit the tub and flow into the main drain line. Waste shoes are commonly made from materials like brass, PVC, or stainless steel, depending on the plumbing system. Proper installation and sealing of waste shoes are necessary to prevent leaks, ensure efficient drainage, and maintain compliance with plumbing codes.
