Unified National Coarse (UNC) thread is a standard thread form used in plumbing fittings, bolts, and other components that require threaded connections. It has a coarser pitch compared to fine-thread types, making it easier to assemble and less prone to cross-threading. UNC threads are commonly found in piping systems, providing a reliable, strong connection for various fittings, valves, and adapters. Proper use of UNC-threaded components, including sealing with Teflon tape or pipe dope, ensures leak-proof connections in plumbing systems.
