Male Iron Pipe Connection (MIPC) is a term used to describe threaded pipe ends that connect with Female Iron Pipe (FIP) fittings. MIPC threading is commonly found in galvanized steel, black iron, or brass plumbing pipes and fittings, used in water supply, gas lines, and drainage systems. The threads are tapered, allowing for a tight, leak-proof connection when paired with compatible fittings. To enhance the seal, pipe dope or Teflon tape is often applied to the male threads during installation. Proper threading, sealing, and tightening of MIPC connections are essential for preventing leaks and maintaining system integrity.
