Laminated glass is a type of safety glass made by bonding two or more layers of glass with an interlayer, typically made from polyvinyl butyral (PVB), ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), or other materials. This interlayer holds the glass together when shattered, preventing it from breaking into sharp pieces, making it safer for use in building windows, shower enclosures, and other applications where safety is critical. In plumbing, laminated glass can be found in shower doors, bathroom partitions, or skylights, where safety and durability are important. Laminated glass also provides additional benefits like sound insulation, UV protection, and resistance to impact. Proper installation and maintenance ensure the longevity and safety of laminated glass in plumbing-related fixtures.
