An interceptor is a device installed in drainage systems to capture and separate grease, oil, and other debris from wastewater before it enters the sewer system. It is commonly used in commercial kitchens, food processing facilities, and industrial settings where large amounts of fats, oils, and grease (FOG) are generated. Interceptors help prevent blockages, protect sewer infrastructure, and comply with environmental regulations by reducing the amount of pollutants discharged into the public sewer system. Regular cleaning and maintenance of interceptors are necessary to ensure efficient operation, prevent overflows, and extend the lifespan of the plumbing system.
