An instantaneous water heater, also known as a tankless water heater, is a type of water heater that heats water on demand rather than storing hot water in a tank. When a hot water tap is opened, cold water flows through the unit, where it is quickly heated by an electric element or gas burner. Instantaneous water heaters are energy-efficient, as they eliminate standby heat losses associated with traditional tank-based water heaters. They are commonly used in residential and commercial settings where continuous hot water is needed without the space requirements of a storage tank. Regular maintenance of tankless water heaters, including descaling and flushing, helps maintain efficiency and prevent issues like mineral buildup or reduced heating performance.
