A duplex basin is an ejector pump container designed to hold two separate pumps, providing redundancy and increased capacity for wastewater removal. It is commonly used in basement sewage systems, commercial buildings, and other applications where higher wastewater volumes or backup pumping is required. The two pumps in a duplex basin operate alternately or simultaneously, depending on the system’s needs, ensuring that wastewater is effectively handled even if one pump fails. Duplex basins help maintain system reliability, manage peak flow rates, and prevent flooding or backups. Made from materials like polyethylene or fiberglass, these basins are built to resist corrosion and withstand harsh environments. Proper installation, along with regular inspection and maintenance, ensures efficient operation and extends the lifespan of the pumps and basin.
